Extra Tool Options

Sometimes when you are working with design software, it’s the little things that make a difference. You could spend 15 minutes tweaking something, or you could dial in a few settings and have exactly what you want in seconds. You work with tools all the time in Adobe Illustrator, but you may not know that there are extra options under many of them. Watch the video below, which shows the extra tool options that you can find in Adobe Illustrator.

You can use these extra tools options in Illustrator to make more precise shapes. This can save you tons of time when working with different tools. Doing things manually can be really difficult sometimes. Using snap to Grid or snap to object still isn’t as precise at dialing in the exact settings for what you want. Finding these extra options can be as easy as holding down the option key. Holding Shift can help with constraining items proportionally, but it still isn’t as precise and dialing in the right calculations. One of the examples from the video is a star shape. If you take the Star Tool and dial in enough points and create an oval shape, you can create a perfect burst shape every time.
