Griddify is everything you ever dreamed of.

For years, designers and production artists have struggled with guides and trying to align them. It has always been tough, just because it is difficult to use guides. You struggle with aligning them to rulers. It is impossible to be certain of your grid’s precision, and many times our grids are off by a pixel. Well, our prayers has been answered by Gelobi, the makers of the ultimate plugin for Photoshop guides. There’s so much you can do with Griddify, and it’s all done with math and precision. Lets take a look at Griddify and what it can do.

Griddify Panel

Griddify: Spacing

The simplicity of Griddify is what gets me. The interface is just 3 fields and 6 buttons, but that does so much. In the fields, you can enter in the numeric intervals for each guide. You can add multiple numbers in each field, and can generate complex pattern grids in seconds. I typed in 20 and generated the guides shown below.

Then, I typed in 20 and then 10, and generated the grid shown below. You can type as many numbers as you want separated by spaces and it will generate your guide layout based on your numbers. If you click the arrow icon, it will change the guides from being vertical to flowing horizontally.

Griddify: Divisions

The divisions setting allows you to split up your image with guide. If you type in the number 2, it will split the image down the middle. Clicking the square allows you to select whether the guides are set horizontally, vertically, or both at the same time.

Griddify: Wrap

When you need to set guides for a border or safe area around the edges of your image or design, use the wrap feature. This will determine in pixels the spacing around the edge of the image. you can place multiple numbers in the field to set multiple guides around the edge. You can also use negative numbers.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been using Photoshop for almost 15 years now, and I’ve been wanting something like this since I first started. no longer do we have to struggle with guides and trying to get some sense of precision. Now, you dial in what you want, click a button, and you’re done.
