Freelancing Office Space
Working for yourself has its perks. This is especially true when you work from home. You have the ability to work in your pajamas, when you want to, and where you want to. Want to take a break? You can even go take a nap when you’re not feeling up to par that day. If it’s a nice day, you can go spend some time with your kids (if you have any), or you can go raid the fridge for a snack. However, there are cases when you are working from home, and it’s just not working out. This is the time when you need to consider renting freelancing office space.
Living Space is Too Small
It might be time to consider renting freelancing office space if you’re living space is too small. If you’re feeling cramped or there’s just not enough room for you to work comfortably, then it’s time to expand. You need a place to be able to hold all of your supplies, and for you to spread out and work without feeling constricted. If you live in a small house or an apartment, and you’re sharing your office space with your family, you can feel really crammed. Another option is possibly moving into a basement and attic, but this isn’t always an option. This is especially true if your basement is unfinished or it has moisture issues. Moisture can damage your electronics such as your computers, back up hard drives, etc.
Too Many Distractions
If there are too many distractions around your home, then it may be time to rent freelancing office space. If your children are constantly interrupting you, it breaks your concentration and you can’t get as much work done. This can drag out your work day and cause you to be frustrated. This can put a strain on your relationship with your family. If this starts happening, then it’s time to consider getting some freelancing office space away from the house. Pets are another issue as well. If your pets are constantly bothering you for your attention, and this is distracting you from your work, you may consider getting your own office space. Other distractions that may hinder your work day could be video games, the pool, or just the idea of going and taking a nap. One of the parts of working from home is being able to take a nap when you’re tired or don’t feel well, but letting it get out of hand can hinder your productivity. Making a habit of taking a nap in the middle of your work day when it’s not necessary can hinder your business. It might cause you to miss important phone calls or miss important deadlines.
Too Much Noise
Too much noise can be another issue. I know that sometimes, in my neighborhood, all of the neighborhood dogs seem to get in a barking contest in the middle of the day. This can be especially distracting for work. I’ve had this happen while recording instructional videos too. This is really frustrating and can cause you to have to do your work over again. In the summer, kids are in school, which means they will be outside playing, screaming, running and jumping. This can sometimes be a distraction as well, because all the noise will keep you from concentrating. If your work day is being hindered by too much noise, then it’s time to consider renting some freelancing office space.
You Need a Place to Meet With Clients
If your work means that you need to meet with clients on a frequent basis, then it’s definitely time to consider renting some freelancing office space. If you have trouble keeping your home clean, or you have too many children and pets running around, this is not good for a meeting. It’s time to get some office space, so that you can sit down with your clients and have a meeting and focus on the agendas at hand. Another side of the story is you won’t have to run all around town to meet clients in coffee shops and at their business. They can drop by your office whenever it is convenient for them.
You Have Difficulties Separating Work and Life
Another reason you might consider renting some freelancing office space is if you have difficulties separating work and life. If you find yourself constantly working and not enjoying your life, then this is definitely a problem. If you never stop working, and how do you know when the work day is over? If you have your own office space, then when you come home the work day is over and you can spend time with your family and your pets. If you’re dragging your work all over the house , and you work from sun up to sundown, this will put a strain on the relationships within your household. Sometimes you just need a distinct division between your work and your personal life.
Conclusion
Working from home is awesome if you can maintain a balance in your life. If you have your own dedicated office space, or you can go be alone, get your work done, and concentrate, then you don’t really need to rent office space. However, if you’re constantly distracted and interrupted, and you feel like you can’t get your work done, then it is time to consider renting some freelancing office space. You’ll feel much better, and you won’t have any resentment towards your family or pets. You can run your business how it needs to be, and you can have a quiet space to work where you can focus.
