Adobe Announces Launch of CS5

We’ve all been waiting to see what Adobe would come up with next. well now it’s coming. Adobe CS5! I went to take a sneak peek at what’s in store for us, and just the one video I watched had me so excited I had to let everyone know to come check it out. Be sure to go here to see what they are previewing for us. The official launch date is April 12th, 2010. They are doing a global online launch event, and you can go to their site to register.

The video preview I watched was for a feature called Content Aware Fill. I thought Content Aware Scale was cool in CS4, but with Content Aware Fill, you can remove blemishes and objects in textures and difficult objects. It is absolutely amazing and revolutionary. In the video, they make a selection around various objects, and simply hit the delete key and it brings up options, and you hit ok, only to have that object removed, and for it to be filled in with the texture around it. It apparently analyzes the surrounding image data, removes the selection and then fills it in to make a seamless texture. They remove a tree from the sky area in seconds, and it turns out perfect. They even remove lens glares where a woman’s shirt meets a park bench, and it fills it all in perfectly. It is like the spot healing brush to the extreme! Even if that is the best thing CS5 has to offer, it definitely knocks it out of the park! Go see for yourself, and check out the other videos too.
