Photoshop Guides

I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to set up a precise set of guides in Photoshop, but if you haven’t, don’t. It’s a pain, for several reasons, but one of the big ones is that you just don’t seem to have control like you think you would in a program so advanced like Photoshop. You always seem to be one pixel off, or it just barely seems to not line up properly. You end up fiddling with it far too long, and the whole experience is just frustrating. Well, that changes with GuideGuide, by Cameron McEfee and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without this plugin. All you have to do is make a selection via the Marquee Tool, and you can base your guides on that. You can read more about the GuideGuide Photoshop guides plugin below.

GuideGuide makes it easy to set up precide grids, which is awesome for creating layouts in Photoshop. You can base your grid on the Photoshop document itself, as well as a selection. Then, you determine the settings you want, and the gird will be made automatically. I love it. This plugin was installed so fast after I found it, you wouldn’t believe it. I hate making grids by hand in Photoshop. Never again, and I mean never again.

This plugin works so well, that I am surprised it hasn’t gotten more attention. Maybe it is one of those well-kept secrets by elite designers. Who know. All I know is that if Adobe was smart, they would buy this plugin and make it part of the core functionality of Photoshop.
