A simple and streamlined site is usually the best way to go. Over-complicating a site can lead to confusion and frustration with users. When you can create a sleek, easy experience for a visitor, they are more likely to come back. That brings me to this week’s free website template. The Konefix Free html5 template by PanKogut is a streamlined website that is modern, elegant, and just plain looks great. I am a little surprised that they are offering this template for free. At first, it’s hard to notice the hamburger menu icon in the top left. it’s unexpected, but actually added an element of exploration to the site. I knew there had to be more. Once I found the menu, I was eager to check out each page. I was pleased by the results. Each page looks fantastic, and the demo even has a few color choices to give you an idea of how it might look with your own signature colors.
This section talks about what you do. You could mention your skills here, or the services that you’re selling. Everything smoothly slides up from the bottom when the page loads.
The about page is where to list you skills and give yourself a rating for each one. This is important for showing your strengths and areas of focus. One half slides in from the left, while the other half slides in from the right.
The portfolio is a simple grid layout. When you hover over the image, a tile slides up with a title and brief description.
The blog section looks great. There’s plenty of room for large images and content. The sidebar on the right provides plenty of space for extras, such as tags, a search bar, and other widgets you’d expect to find.
