Seo Tips
The success of your website is based on how much traffic you receive and where your site ranks on search engines such as Google and Bing. Websites that rank higher on search engines are more likely to receive traffic than sites that land on any other page, and if you truly want your site to be found, you need to get your site ranked high on the search engine results pages (SERPs). Unfortunately, too many sites either don’t care enough to implement any search engine optimization tactics, or they stick to one method, cross their fingers and hope it works. Most people get fed up with search engine optimization because it takes a great deal of time to implement. Honest SEO tactics will not increase your rankings overnight, and too many people stop focusing on their SEO efforts if they don’t see changes quickly.
It’s important to remember that SEO will take time to generate change for your website. Search engine spiders are not constantly crawling your site, so you need to give them time to revisit your site, check out your efforts, and re-rank you appropriately.
If you want to have success with your SEO, you need to implement multiple SEO tactics, not just adding keywords to your content. The following are six simple SEO tactics that you’re probably failing to implement (but should if you want to see success).
1. Add backlinks.
Backlinks are an important step in helping your site get found. Make sure that you’re linking content in your site to other valuable websites with similar topics, and also make sure that you’re adding links to internal pages too. If possible, you should also try to get your website linked on other sites, such as your social media pages, online review sites, or business partner websites. All of these backlinks will help improve your site’s SEO efforts and improve your ranking.
2. Use descriptive links.
Do you have links on your site that say “click here” or “read more”? If so, remove them. These links are not benefiting your site at all. Search engine spiders put emphasis on the content within the web link, which means that you want to use more descriptive links instead of vague links. For example, if your link is leading to information about searchability, say “click here for more information on searchability” instead.
3. Regularly change your content.
When was the last time the information on your website was updated? If you can’t remember, it’s been too long. Search engine spiders crawl website on a regular basis, but if they come back to your site and see that you haven’t changed your content, they’re not going to come back as often. If you want to improve your SEO, you want these spiders coming back consistently, which means you need to start changing your content on a regular basis.
This doesn’t mean that you have to constantly recreate your entire website, it just means you need to find a way to edit your content. For example, you can add a News page to your site that involves company or industry news and try to change that on a regular basis. This way, when the spiders come to your site, they’ll notice that content has changed and come back more often. If it’s too difficult to change the content on your site, you should consider starting a blog and linking it to your site. This way, you can change the content on your blog on a regular basis, which will keep the search engine spiders coming back.
4. Stay on top of trending keywords.
Most people use tools like Google’s Keyword Planner to determine which keywords are the best choices to use in their website content. While this is a smart tactic, it’s important that you constantly monitor the trending keywords for your industry. Just because you added the best keywords to you content today doesn’t mean those keywords will still be trending or relevant in a few months. Make sure to keep an eye on trending keywords and change your content to accommodate these changes when necessary.
5. Use long tail keywords.
Instead of constantly opting to use the one-word keywords in your content, try to add in some long tail keywords, which are longer in length and tend to be more descriptive. These keywords can be more beneficial to your site than regular keywords and can certainly help to boost your SEO.
6. Transcribe your audio and video files.
If you have audio or video files on your site, it’s hurting your SEO. Even if you’ve added titles, tags and descriptions to the video, search engine spiders cannot crawl the actual audio or video content, which means your site is missing out on being ranked by the keywords used in those files.
If you transcribe your audio or video files and place those transcriptions on your website, you’ll be giving the search engine spiders something to crawl through in order to retrieve the keywords used in your files. This will most certainly help improve your SEO in a way you never thought possible.
