Perfect Effects 8
oh do I have a blockbuster free extension for you. I’m always looking for cool effects and filters to make great images even better. this week, I came across an awesome free Photoshop extension for image effects called Perfect Effects 8. Perfect Effects 8 is made by OnOne software, who make commercial grade effects and filters for Photoshop. Perfect Effects 8 is made as an extension for Photoshop, or it can work with Elements, Lightroom, and as a standalone program, too. In this post, I’ll show you Perfect Effects 8 for Photoshop and all of it’s amazing features.
I decided to try out the free version for a while and see how I liked it. Honestly, once you get into it, Photo Effects 8 is pretty intuitive. I was able to start using the filters and effects in minutes. if you prefer to find out more and learn everything you can about the software, you can watch their videos to get up to speed. What I like is that you aren’t stuck using just the filters. Each filter and preset has a multitude of adjustments. Also, as you can see from the screenshot above, you can stack filters on top of each other for amazing combinations. They work just like Photoshop layers. You can stack them, lower their opacity, and layer them to create amazing effects. You can add real textures that look great. They can be as subtle or intense as you want. Go for the vintage look, or make your image look grungy. Paint in effects with a brush, or just apply them overall.
What’s really cool is that once you are done, the effects are applied to a separate layer in Photoshop, and you can adjust the opacity, or change the blend mode for that layer for even more effects. The possibilities are endless. The extension opens from inside of Photoshop, which is the best option. The reason I like this is because you get to see previews of each effect in the vertical strip on the left side.
